GDPR: what it is and what you need to know

GDPR is the buzzword of the moment, and with its enforcement imminent and its impact on businesses universal, the presentation to Business Village on these new data protection rules was listened to with interest.

Paul Himple, who runs HR consultancy Go Legal HR, gave an extremely informative talk on GDPR. It was, he said, an overview of the new rules, how they differ from current legislation, and what company owners and directors need to start thinking about and putting in place.

Food, festive fun, business and breakfast were the order of the day for Swindon Business Village which used its last meeting of 2017 to support Swindon Foodbank.

Attendees at Swindon Business Village, which meets on Thursdays for breakfast, took along donations for the foodbank and heard a presentation about its work by manager Cher Smith.

Donation is just the business for Swindon charities

Two Swindon charities are better off to the tune of £400 thanks to a donation from Business Village. TWIGS, a community garden project, and youth charity Inner Flame, were each given £200 from Business Village, which meets every Thursday at the Campanile Hotel for breakfast and networking.
